eModal is an application which connects you, the user, to the terminal’s operating system for various functionality such as terminal access, cargo availability, scheduling appointments and fee payment.
Container status, availability and fee/demurrage information shown in eModal is provided either by a shipping line or terminal operator, and the process of updating data is continual throughout the day.
The two systems talk back and forth all day, but the communication is not immediate; there may a lag that can take between 15 and 60 minutes to reflect status changes depending on the terminal partner. Given the lag time when a change is made in eModal, the terminal will not automatically reflect that information and vice versa.
Occasionally, there could be issues which impact all messages coming to or from eModal. If you believe there is a discrepancy between data in eModal and a host system, please contact us and we will investigate.
